There's so much more to you than what you've been through.
Therapy for healing from the past and building a life that feels like your own.
At Safe to Bloom Therapy, I help adults work through childhood and complex trauma, understand the patterns shaping their lives, and find new ways of connecting with themselves and others.
Thoughtful, evidence-informed therapy with a down-to-earth approach and plenty of room to be yourself.

You deserve to feel at home in your own life.
We all carry pieces of our experiences with us. Our childhoods, relationships, losses, and the expectations we've lived with can shape how we see ourselves and move through the world.
Sometimes, that means finding yourself in patterns you'd like to change. Other times, it's working through painful memories, navigating complicated relationships, or figuring out what you want your life to look like moving forward.
There's room for all of it here. The hard stuff, the hopeful stuff, and everything in between.
Childhood Trauma & Complex PTSD Therapy
The past can have a way of showing up in the present.
Childhood experiences shape how we learn to trust, connect, express emotions, and understand ourselves. When those experiences involve abuse, neglect, instability, or complicated family dynamics, their effects can reach well into adulthood.
Complex trauma can affect your sense of self, relationships, emotional regulation, and even the way your nervous system responds to everyday situations. It isn't always about one particular event, and its impact can look different from person to person.
My work focuses on understanding these patterns and addressing the emotional, relational, and nervous system impacts of trauma through approaches such as EMDR, somatic interventions, and inner child and parts work.
We can't change what happened. But we can work toward changing how those experiences continue to affect your life.

Medical Trauma
Hi, I’m Katlyn!
Trauma therapist, fellow human, and big believer in the possibility of healing.
I'm Katlyn Michaels, LCSW, LCSW-C, a therapist specializing in childhood trauma, complex PTSD, and grief. I love helping people make sense of their experiences, understand the patterns that show up in their lives, and discover new ways of relating to themselves and others.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and pretty down-to-earth. There's room for honest conversations, curiosity, humor, and all the messy parts of being human.
I bring specialized trauma training and integrate EMDR, somatic approaches, relational therapy, and inner child/parts work into our sessions. My work is also rooted in feminist, LGBTQ+ affirming, and anti-oppressive values.
You can expect a therapist who shows up as a real person, brings knowledge and intention to our work, and genuinely believes in your ability to heal.
